Mark and Terry

ABOUT ME

I was raised on a Farm in Sunderland and after University I married Terry, a local girl and the love of my life. We Landed good jobs – worked hard – bought our home and raised our daughter, Laurie and our son, Andrew. We currently enjoy doting on our grandson, Logan, who is 6.

We have enjoyed our Community – the schools, recreations, church, social and volunteer activities - including coaching minor sports, music, the Lindsay Public Library Board; volunteering on affordable housing initiatives as well as the Lindsay Economic Development Commission.

Lindsay is a terrific place to Live Work and Play with some of the most natural beauty in Ontario – close to the GTA and easy to access.

As our community is evolving and growing – we need to ensure that economic growth is balanced and planned; with the amenities, environment, and infrastructure to attract residential/commercial growth; businesses, professionals, and more doctors!

Our councillor must be knowledgeable, skillful, and sensitive to the reality in which all of our people live – so that we may grow and thrive TOGETHER – leaving no one behind.

I will listen to you – your perspective is important.

I will work hard for you and in the best interests of Ward 5 and the City of Kawartha Lakes.

I would appreciate your vote for Councillor of Ward 5

“I met Mark on a golf course by chance a couple of years ago. His passion for the City of Kawartha Lakes was evident from the first conversation we had. Little did I know that within the next couple of years, I would be sitting with Mark in my office at Northern Casket with him as my city councillor. From day one, Mark has been sincere about his ambition to support and promote the economic growth and stability, and specifically manufacturing, in our city. One thing that sets Mark apart from other councillors in the past is his accessibility. From day one, Mark has always taken the approach of “how can I help?” and provided his cell phone number and told me that he was available any time. I can’t say enough, how much I appreciate a councillor like Mark Doble who doesn’t feel like a “councillor” but feels more like a member of our team.”

Caley Ferguson,
President, Northern Casket

"I have known Mark Doble for most of my life, and over the past year I have watched him bring that same integrity, diligence and commitment to public service to his role as Councillor for Ward 5.Municipal government is where leadership is tested every day. It requires thoughtful decision-making, careful stewardship of public resources, the ability to balance competing priorities, and a genuine willingness to listen. Throughout his first year on Council, Mark has demonstrated exactly those qualities. He has approached the role with professionalism, preparation and respect for both the process and the people he serves.Mark understands that effective municipal leadership is rarely about headlines; it is about showing up, doing the work, engaging with residents, and making decisions that strengthen the community over the long term. He has embraced that responsibility with energy and humility, earning the confidence of those who elected him.Our community benefits from leaders who are thoughtful, collaborative and committed to getting the details right. Mark has proven himself to be exactly that kind of councillor, and I have every confidence he will continue to serve Ward 5 and the City of Kawartha Lakes with distinction."
